Ayana Bali Celebrates Global Wellness Day 2026 With A Resort-wide Journey Of Joy, Movement, And Mindful Living

AYANA Bali invited guests to reconnect with wellbeing through restorative experiences spanning movement, dining, and relaxation across the island’s largest integrated resort.

Bali, Indonesia (25 June 2026) – As wellness travel continues to grow globally, AYANA Bali marked Global Wellness Day 2026 on 13 June with a curated program of restorative experiences inspired by this year’s theme, #JoyMagenta. Centered around the idea that joy supports resilience and emotional wellbeing, the annual initiative encourages people around the world to reconnect with healthier, more mindful lifestyles.

Observed in more than 100 countries since its founding in 2012, Global Wellness Day is a not-for-profit social movement built around the message, “One day can change your whole life.” Across AYANA Bali’s 90-hectare clifftop destination overlooking Jimbaran Bay, guests took part in guided meditation, sound healing, and Thalassotherapy sessions. These experiences reflect AYANA Bali’s broader approach to wellness, which integrates spa, nature, movement, and mindful dining throughout the resort experience.

The celebration was held amid growing global interest in wellness-focused travel, with destinations such as Bali increasingly sought after for experiences focused on nature, mindfulness, and holistic wellbeing. In Indonesia, traditional healing practices, spiritual traditions, and slower-paced resort experiences continue to shape the country’s emergence as one of Asia’s leading wellness destinations.

At the heart of the resort’s wellness offerings is AYANA Spa, recognized in Oprah Daily’s 2025 Hotel O-Wards as one of the world’s top destination spas. Spanning 2.2 hectares, the spa features 47 treatment rooms and one of the world’s largest hydrotherapy seawater pools, the Thalassotherapy Pool, where mineral-rich seawater, massage jets, and countercurrent therapies support circulation, muscular recovery, and relaxation beneath an open-air pavilion overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Complementing the spa is Spa on the Rocks, an intimate cliffside retreat built into natural rock formations above the ocean. The villa-style treatment spaces combine therapeutic rituals with panoramic coastal views and the sound of the waves below, offering one of the resort’s most memorable spaces for relaxation and renewal.

Wellness is also reflected throughout the broader resort experience, with 14 swimming pools, fitness facilities, yoga spaces, and nature-focused experiences integrated across the property. Guests may also explore Tevana Garden, AYANA Bali’s six-hectare garden inspired by the harmony of Balinese landscapes and Japanese design, featuring tranquil walking paths, koi ponds, a panoramic viewpoint tower, and a peaceful Tea Room designed for quiet reflection and connection with nature.

AYANA Bali’s wellness dining program, first introduced at AYANA Spa Café and later expanded to venues including Sami Sami — an open-air Italian trattoria with stunning sea views — emphasizes balanced nutrition and lighter preparations inspired by Mediterranean and Asian flavors.

Developed in February 2026, the latest wellness menu features dishes such as the Sashimi Tuna Salad, Miso Glazed Tofu with Cilantro & Eggplant, Grilled Atlantic Salmon, and Salsa Verde Tiger Shrimp, alongside plant-forward desserts including Raw Vegan Dark Chocolate, Avocado Chocolate Mousse, and Key Lime Vegan Cake.

Through its Global Wellness Day program, AYANA Bali invited guests to pause, reconnect, and embrace wellbeing through simple, meaningful experiences shaped by nature, movement, nourishment, and rest. In the spirit of this year’s #JoyMagenta theme, the celebration reflected AYANA Bali’s ongoing commitment to creating spaces where wellness becomes a natural part of everyday life.

The Private Villa Wedding You Thought Was Out of Reach? Nakula Makes It Yours

From Intimate Ceremonies to Multi-Day Celebrations, Nakula’s Luxury Event Villas Across Bali Deliver Extraordinary Experiences at Remarkably Competitive Value

Bali, Indonesia (24 June 2026) – For years, the idea of a private villa wedding in Bali carried an air of exclusivity that felt just beyond reach — the seamless logistics, the stunning setting, the white-glove service. Bali’s leading villa management company, Nakula, is changing that perception entirely. With wedding packages starting from IDR 50,000,000, inclusive of multi-night accommodation, daily breakfast, and airport transfers. Nakula brings together everything a celebration requires at a value that consistently rivals, and often surpasses, what traditional wedding venues can offer.

Whether it’s an intimate ceremony for twenty guests or a destination wedding for one hundred, Nakula’s event-ready villas are designed to make every milestone occasion feel personal, unhurried, and unforgettable.

RETHINKING WHAT A WEDDING VENUE CAN BE
Planning a celebration at a conventional hotel or event hall often means navigating fixed packages, shared spaces, rigid timelines, and hidden costs that gradually accumulate. At a Nakula villa, the experience is entirely different — and so is the value.

When guests book a Nakula property for a wedding or special event, they are not simply  securing a venue—they are securing a private estate. A single all-inclusive package brings together overnight accommodation for the entire wedding party, daily breakfast, airport transfers, and the kind of unhurried, attentive hospitality that allows a celebration to unfold entirely on its own terms. For couples and families who have long imagined a wedding that feels genuinely their own, Nakula makes it not only possible but surprisingly attainable, with packages starting from IDR 50,000,000 inclusive of government tax and service charge.

What sets Nakula’s standalone villas apart even  further is the freedom they afford. Guests are welcome to bring their own catering and preferred vendors, from private chefs and bakers to florists, photographers, and entertainment — with no corkage restrictions on standalone properties. It is the level of flexibility that conventional venues rarely offer, allowing  every celebration to feel truly bespoke rather than confined to a standard package.

SETTINGS THAT SELL THEMSELVES
What sets a Nakula villa apart is the landscape itself. These are not neutral event spaces; they are destinations with a distinct sense of place , where the natural surroundings becomes the most unforgettable element of the celebration. Across the collection, each property offers a setting entirely its own.

  • On Bali’s black-sand coastline in Tabanan, Amarta Beach Retreat places the ceremony just steps from the shoreline — coconut palms, open horizons, and the sound of Indian Ocean waves as a natural backdrop no florist could replicate. With a standing capacity of up to 250 guests across its beachfront garden, joglo pavilions, and open lawn, Amarta is Nakula’s largest and most versatile event venue, with packages from IDR 70,000,000
  • Perched on the iconic cliffs of Uluwatu, Nagasutra Villa elevates the occasion above the ocean — its cliff-edge infinity pool and refined Balinese architecture creating a seamless blend of grandeur and intimacy for up to 70 standing guests, with packages from IDR 100,000,000
  • Along Bali’s unspoiled west coast, The Cove Bali is where jungle meets the sea — a secluded property with a private beach, sea cave access, and a cliffside infinity pool that creates the island’s most cinematic ceremony setting, accommodating up to 50 guests with packages from IDR 50,000,000
  • Near Ubud’s Campuhan Ridge, Le Sunset offers a different kind of magic entirely — lush tropical gardens, koi ponds, a jungle-edge infinity pool, and the deep stillness of the Balinese highlands, with standing capacity for up to 50 guests and packages from IDR 70,000,000

THE FULL CELEBRATION, TAKEN CARE OF
Nakula’s value extends far beyond the villa itself . Through its dedicated hospitality and concierge teams, guests have access to private chefs, bespoke in-villa dining experiences, airport and ground transfers, curated wellness and cultural activities, and personalised event coordination — all tailored to each occasion.

This means couples and hosts spend less time managing vendors and logistics, and more time being fully present for the celebration  alongside their guests. For families flying in from different time zones, for wedding parties that want the morning-after brunch to feel just as special as the ceremony itself, Nakula’s end-to-end approach transforms an event into a shared experience that lingers long after guests return home.

“The events we remember most are rarely defined by how elaborate they were,” said Christian Sunjoto, CEO of Nakula. “What stays with us are the quiet moments — grandparents watching grandchildren play in the garden, old friends catching up over a late dinner, a bride laughing with her closest friends over breakfast. Private villas create the space for all of this to happen naturally. At Nakula, we want every detail to be taken care of so that hosts and guests can simply be present — together.”

NAKULA: BALI’S PREMIER DESTINATION FOR SOCIAL EVENTS AND PRIVATE CELEBRATIONS
Nakula has long been synonymous with exceptional private villa stays. Today, it is redefining what a luxury event venue in Bali can be.

For couples planning a destination wedding, families organising a reunion, or companies seeking a distinctive setting for a private retreat, Nakula’s collection offers something the conventional venue market rarely provides: the convergence of natural beauty, genuine privacy, curated hospitality, and competitive all-inclusive value in some of Bali’s most sought-after locations.

Whether you envision a clifftop celebration , a beachfront ceremony, or a gathering set within lush tropical gardens,  with all-inclusive packages starting from IDR 50,000,000 and the freedom to bring your own catering and vendors — Nakula is the answer.

Guests booking directly through Nakula’s official website or WhatsApp receive personalised assistance from the very first enquiry, ensuring that every celebration is shaped around what matters most to them.

Utama Spice and Ahti Interiors Launch Plant-Powered Bathroom Care for Contemporary Living

Bali, Indonesia (23 June 2026) – People are becoming more mindful about what goes onto their skin, into their bodies, and even how their homes are designed. However, many cleaning products still rely on harsh chemicals, industrial-style formulas, and overpowering synthetic fragrances. A new collaboration between Bali wellness brand Utama Spice and design-led bathroom specialist Ahti Interiors aims to change that through a new range of home care products combining high performance with natural and environmentally friendly formulations.

The collaboration brings together two brands approaching modern living from complementary perspectives. For more than 30 years, Utama Spice has focused on plant-based wellness, essential oils, and Indonesia’s traditional botanical knowledge. Ahti Interiors, named after the Finnish god of water, curates premium sanitary ware for Indonesia’s leading residential and hospitality projects, with a design philosophy rooted in functionality, clean aesthetics, and material-conscious simplicity.

Together, the brands are rethinking home care through products that are effective and practical, while also being gentler on the home environment and better suited to contemporary living.

“Home care products are usually treated as purely functional, so there hasn’t been much attention paid to the ingredients they contain,” said Ria Templer, Director of Utama Spice. “We wanted to create products that are highly effective without relying on unnecessarily harsh chemicals that can damage surfaces and be harmful for people and the planet.”

The first product from the collaboration is a plant-powered limescale remover designed to break down hard water stains and mineral buildup using a triple-acid system combining citric, gluconic, and lactic acid. Limescale is a common issue in many Indonesian bathrooms, particularly in areas where groundwater contains high levels of natural minerals that gradually accumulate on tiles, shower glass, taps, and fixtures. The formula also incorporates biodegradable plant-based surfactants and essential oils, offering heavy-duty cleaning performance without the aggressive chemicals associated with many conventional bathroom cleaners.

One of the product’s key features is that it is brass-safe, which is uncommon for many powerful limescale removers that can damage fixtures and finishes. The product was designed specifically for modern bathrooms and material-conscious spaces, combining Ahti Interior’s expertise in architectural bathroom environments with Utama Spice’s experience in natural ingredient formulation.

For Ahti Interiors, the collaboration reflects a broader shift in how people think about the spaces they live in.

“Bathrooms today are no longer treated as purely functional spaces,” said Erica, Marketing Manager of Ahti Interiors. “People invest in natural materials, carefully selected fixtures, and spaces designed to feel calmer and more comfortable to live in. We felt the products used to maintain those spaces should reflect the same level of care.”

The collaboration also taps into growing interest in products that bridge wellness, design, sustainability, and functionality. While environmentally friendly cleaning products have existed for years, few brands in Indonesia have approached home care through both a formulation and lifestyle perspective — balancing performance, material compatibility, and design-conscious living within the same product category.

With additional products in development, the collaboration reflects growing demand for home care products designed not only to clean effectively, but also to better respect the spaces, materials, and people around them.

The first product from the Ahti × Utama Spice collaboration, Limescale Remover, will be available in Utama Spice stores and online from the end of May 2026.

AYANA Bali Unveils A New Chapter For Large-Scale Events

Anchored by the debut of its new Grand Ballroom, AYANA Bali’s expanded meetings and events experience brings together large-scale venues, ocean-facing event spaces, and resort-wide flexibility within a single integrated destination.

Bali, Indonesia (2 June 2026) – AYANA Bali, Indonesia’s largest integrated resort destination, unveils a new chapter in integrated events with the debut of its new Grand Ballroom and expanded event facilities, launching commercially from September 1, 2026. Event inquiries and bookings are now open, with strong early interest already building for Q4 2026 and 2027.

Set within AYANA Bali’s 90-hectare clifftop estate in Jimbaran, the expansion strengthens the resort’s position as one of the island’s leading destinations for meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions, weddings, and large-scale celebrations.

Built around a resort-wide event experience, AYANA Bali connects conference facilities with oceanfront venues, destination dining, accommodation, and cultural and wellness experiences within one integrated estate.

Located 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport and away from the island’s main tourist congestion, AYANA Bali comprises 993 guest rooms across four hotels, giving it the largest accommodation capacity of any integrated MICE destination in Bali. The resort also offers the island’s most diverse integrated MICE environments, with 31 dining venues, 14 swimming pools, the award-winning AYANA Spa with 47 treatment rooms, and extensive wellness, recreation, and entertainment facilities. A resort-wide tram system simplifies delegate movement across the property, reducing logistical complexity for planners and attendees alike.

At the center of the expansion is the new Grand Ballroom, designed by global architecture and design firm Gensler. Spanning 1,850 square meters of pillarless space with 9-meter ceilings, the ballroom accommodates up to 2,300 seated guests and has been conceived for international conventions, corporate summits, incentive programs, destination weddings, gala dinners, and major brand events. Integrated audiovisual infrastructure, including three large-scale LED screens positioned across two sides of the ballroom, supports high-impact productions with minimal setup requirements.

Surrounding the Grand Ballroom is a newly enhanced collection of event spaces designed to accommodate a wider range of event formats. An expansive foyer accommodates registration and networking, while the Veranda opens onto sweeping 270-degree ocean views. Beyond, 20 breakout rooms support concurrent sessions of varying scale, many with natural light, alongside dedicated VIP holding facilities adjacent to the ballroom.

A defining feature of AYANA Bali’s expanded meetings and events experience is the fluid transition between large-scale indoor functions and outdoor venues. The Grand Ballroom is among the few large-scale ballroom venues in Bali offering direct access to ocean-facing outdoor event spaces, allowing conferences and formal gatherings to continue naturally into sunset cocktails, dinners, and open-air celebrations without requiring guests to relocate elsewhere on the island.

The architectural concept draws inspiration from Bali’s ancient Sanga Mandala philosophy, creating a balanced relationship between people, place, and the surrounding environment. Sustainability also remains central to AYANA Bali’s operations. As an EarthCheck Gold-certified destination, the resort’s integrated model helps reduce transportation requirements and event-related emissions, an increasingly important consideration for international organizations and ESG-focused planners. The approach reflects the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which emphasizes harmony between people, nature, and spiritual wellbeing.

Together with existing meeting and event venues across the resort, including facilities at RIMBA by AYANA Bali, the expansion further reinforces AYANA Bali’s position as one of Indonesia’s most comprehensive destinations for large-scale meetings, celebrations, and incentive travel. With early interest already building, prime dates for Q4 2026 and 2027 are expected to be secured well in advance.

The one-night-only dining experience arrives as part of Ubud Food Festival 2026, celebrating nature, provenance, and ingredient storytelling through the culinary philosophies of Chef Syrco Bakker and Chef Ben Devlin.

Tamba by Junsei Unveils Its Next Chapter Through “The Rooster in Flame”

A one-night-only takeover that offers an early glimpse into the evolving identity of Junsei and Tamba through food, cocktails, music, and atmosphere.

Bali, Indonesia (25 May 2026) – Less than a month after opening in Sanur, Junsei continues to expand beyond the boundaries of a traditional yakitori izakaya through The Rooster in Flame, a one-night-only takeover at Night Rooster on 29 May, from 6 PM until late. Led by Junsei together with Tamba, the evening offers a closer look into Tamba’s expanding concept as a tearoom by day and vinyl-led listening bar by night in Sanur.

Tamba by Junsei first introduced its collaborative approach through an international collaboration with SOMA Cocktail Bar in Kuala Lumpur earlier this May. While Junsei has quickly become known for its binchōtan-grilled yakitori and modern izakaya atmosphere, Tamba introduces a different pace and perspective, one shaped by sound, tea, cocktails, and atmosphere.

For one night only, Junsei brings its flame-driven menu to Night Rooster through a limited 10-seat set menu experience available from 6 PM to 8 PM, alongside à la carte dishes and cocktails served until late. The menu reflects Junsei’s approach to Japanese cooking rooted in precision, balance, and the use of carefully sourced local ingredients interpreted through Japanese techniques and sensibilities.

Dishes include Crab Croquette with brown crab and caviar, Snapper Crudo with citrus soy, and a selection of charcoal-grilled yakitori such as Seseri, Shisomaki, Hatsu, and Tsukune, alongside Gyudon finished with onsen egg and garlic chips. Guests may also opt for a beverage pairing experience featuring six cocktails designed to move alongside the progression of the menu.

“Tamba has always been envisioned as an extension of Junsei, but with a different rhythm,” says Aman Lakhiani, Executive Chef of Junsei and creator of Tamba. “At Junsei, we focus heavily on fire, texture, and the energy of the izakaya experience. With Tamba, we wanted to explore something more layered and atmospheric, where music, tea, cocktails, and food naturally interact throughout the night.”

Created by Chef Aman Lakhiani, Tamba moves between tearoom and listening bar, shifting gradually from day into night. The drinks draw from Japanese ingredients and techniques, with a focus on fermentation, tea, and umami-led flavours, while music and atmosphere shape the pace of the room throughout the evening. Inspired by the idea of utsuroi, the menu gradually moves from lighter, cleaner profiles into deeper and more expressive flavours throughout the evening.

Leading the beverage program is Mixologist Dedi Mulyadi, whose path into bartending began unexpectedly from behind the scenes as a runner in a speakeasy bar in Bandung. Originally trained in mechanical engineering, Dedi developed a technical yet instinctive approach to cocktails through years of observing different bartending philosophies and refining his own voice behind the bar.

His cocktails often lean savoury and umami-driven, incorporating ingredients commonly associated with Japanese kitchens such as koji, katsuobushi, tea, and fermentation techniques. For The Rooster in Flame, Tamba by Junsei presents cocktails including Last Tea Ceremony, Quiet Path, and Side Garden, each reflecting Tamba’s layered and restrained approach to flavour.

“I’m interested in drinks that feel connected to their surroundings,” says Dedi. “Not just something strong or sweet, but something that changes with the music, the room, the food, and even the pace of the night. At Tamba, drinks are designed to move naturally with the room, the food, and the pace of the night.”

With The Rooster in Flame, Junsei continues to shape its identity beyond the conventional restaurant format, bringing together food, cocktails, music, and atmosphere into one evolving experience. As Tamba prepares for its next chapter in Sanur, the takeover offers an early glimpse into the direction Junsei is quietly building: contemporary Japanese hospitality rooted in fire, rhythm, and locally driven ingredients interpreted through a modern lens.

Bali, Indonesia (20 May 2026) –   Syrco BASÈ, the pioneering culinary hub in Ubud founded by two Michelin-starred chef Syrco Bakker, continues to gain recognition as one of Indonesia’s best dining destinations. This year, Syrco BASÈ earned a place in Tatler Dining Indonesia’s “20 Best Restaurants 2026” for the first time, while also receiving the Gold Award at the PRESTIGE Gourmet Awards Indonesia’s 30 Best Restaurants 2026 for the second consecutive year.

The recognitions reflect a period of continued evolution for Syrco BASÈ, which since opening in January 2024 has reimagined contemporary dining in Bali through its guiding principles of Traceability, Nature, and Transparency.

Rooted in respect for Indonesia’s ingredients, culinary traditions, artisans, farmers, and fishers, the culinary hub has become known for experiences that connect guests to the origin, culture, and craft of every plate.

Tatler Dining Indonesia recently unveiled its highly anticipated “Indonesia’s 20 Best Restaurants 2026” list, celebrating craftsmanship and service across the archipelago’s dining landscape. The unranked selection highlights leading culinary establishments in Jakarta and Bali that are shaping the future of Indonesian gastronomy.

This month also marked the return of the PRESTIGE Gourmet Awards Indonesia, which honored the nation’s 30 best restaurants through a blind judging process designed to uphold fairness and integrity. Categorized into Gold, Silver, and Bronze distinctions, the awards were determined through anonymous votes cast independently by nearly 40 respected lifestyle figures, entrepreneurs, artists, culinary innovators, and designers from across Asia. Syrco BASÈ was named among only ten recipients of the Gold Award, marking its second consecutive year receiving the distinction.

For Chef Syrco Bakker, these recognitions are a celebration of his team, the restaurant itself, and the broader momentum surrounding Indonesian produce and gastronomy.

“These awards mean a great deal to us because they reflect the passion, care, and dedication of our entire team and community of suppliers and artisans,” says Chef Syrco. “From the farmers and producers we work closely with, to every individual within Syrco BASÈ who contributes their creativity and energy each day, this is something we share together. We believe Indonesian ingredients and culinary traditions hold extraordinary depth and potential, and we are honored to continue exploring and expressing that through our work.”

A New Chapter
The accolades arrive as Syrco BASÈ prepares for its next culinary chapter. In June 2026, the culinary hub will unveil a new menu at Syrco BASÈ Restaurant, offering a renewed exploration of Indonesia’s biodiversity, seasonality, and evolving culinary identity through Chef Syrco’s contemporary perspective.

Ahead of this launch, guests can also anticipate new experiences at KU culinary atelier and Syrco BASÈ Bar, both set to introduce refreshed menus by the end of May 2026. At KU culinary atelier, the intimate fine dining concept within Syrco BASÈ, the upcoming evolution will continue its focus on immersive storytelling and deeply personal encounters with ingredients and technique. Meanwhile, Syrco BASÈ Bar is preparing to introduce a new bar food menu inspired by Indonesia’s diverse ingredients, local flavours, and the convivial spirit of shared dining and drinking culture.

Together, these upcoming developments mark the continued evolution of Syrco BASÈ as a living creative space where cuisine, culture, design, and community intersect. “We are always learning, refining, and growing,” Chef Syrco shares. “For us, evolution is never about changing direction, but about deepening our connection to the land, the people around us, and the stories we want to tell through food and hospitality. We’re excited to welcome guests into this next chapter.”

Vermouth in Hand: Bali’s Aperitivo Era Begins at Bartolo

The French-Italian Uluwatu favourite introduces vermouth-based cocktails for a more relaxed, social way to drink in Bali.

Bali, Indonesia (18 May 2026) –  At Bartolo, the best nights have always been long. They begin with a drink, lead to another before a leisurely meal, more conversation, and one last cocktail. Now, the Uluwatu favourite is leaning further into this European spirit with the launch of a new bar program focused on vermouth, aperitivo culture, and a more relaxed way of drinking.

Known for its French-Italian comfort food and welcoming atmosphere, Bartolo is growing into a destination where guests are just as likely to stop by for cocktails as they are for dinner. With the bar now open until midnight, the restaurant introduces a new vermouth-focused cocktail menu alongside a dedicated bar food list designed for evenings that stretch into the night.

Originating in Italy’s aperitivo culture and later embraced in France, vermouth is a wine-based, aromatized spirit defined by botanicals and balance. Titled Vermouth in Hand, the new menu explores vermouth both as an ingredient and as a way of drinking. Through inventive reinterpretations of classic cocktails alongside original creations, the 15-drink list — categorized into aperitif, savoury, spiced, fruity, and bittersweet profiles — highlights the versatility of vermouth styles while offering something for every palate.

The program includes a collection of vermouths, fortified wines, and house-made infusions, including Bartolo’s own custom vermouth blend. Rather than heavy or overly technical cocktails, the drinks are clean and balanced, combining European influences with tropical nuance and Bartolo’s signature easygoing style. Each cocktail description also includes alcohol by volume (ABV), encouraging a slower, more convivial evening.

Among the standouts is the Bay Leaf Highball, a crisp and savoury mix of fino sherry, green olive, and preserved lemon, kept light at 4.8% ABV. Sparkling and deeply refreshing, the bay leaf garnish gives the drink a distinctly Mediterranean character.

The Peach Sour layers fino sherry with peach cordial and toasted almond for a richer profile. Soft and sunset-hued, it is topped with velvety foam and toasted almond, balancing stone fruit sweetness with subtle nuttiness. Meanwhile, the Cherry Royale combines extra dry vermouth, house cassis — a rich blackcurrant liqueur — and lemon curd into a bright, lightly sparkling serve crowned with silky foam and a maraschino cherry.

Bartolo also continues to experiment with Indonesian and regional ingredients in unexpected ways. The Calamansi Paloma blends mezcal with calamansi — a small Southeast Asian citrus prized for its sharp, fragrant acidity — alongside kaffir lime and salted ginger foam, while the Cascara Negroni incorporates cascara — the dried husk of the coffee cherry — into a bittersweet take on the Italian classic. Across the menu, refreshing spritzes, savoury highballs, and more spirit-forward creations showcase the versatility of vermouth across different moods and occasions.

To accompany the drinks, Bartolo has introduced a bar food menu centred around conservas — high-quality preserved seafood commonly served in Spain and Portugal. Intended for sharing over cocktails rather than formal dining, the menu follows the same approach as the drinks: straightforward, balanced, and designed to bring people together.

For Bartolo, the shift represents a natural evolution rather than a reinvention. The atmosphere remains the same — warm lighting, lively conversation, and the feeling of finding a neighbourhood gathering spot on a European street corner, transplanted onto the Bukit Peninsula.

“Our new drinks menu reflects how we love to drink ourselves,” says Bartolo founder Rafael Nardo. “It’s social, relaxed, and designed for people who want to stay awhile. Maybe you stop in for a vermouth and conservas after the beach, maybe you stay until midnight with friends. Either way, it should always feel welcoming.”

From Bali’s coastal clifftop to the protected waters of Komodo National Park, AYANA presents a school holiday journey shaped by contrast, diversity, and outdoor adventures.

Bali & Labuan Bajo, Indonesia (12 May 2026) –  This school holiday season, AYANA invites families to experience Indonesia through two distinct destinations. The journey begins along Bali’s southwest coast, where the expansive grounds of AYANA Bali, the island’s largest integrated resort, offer unmatched variety and ease. From here, a short flight to Flores leads to AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach, where guests are immersed in one of the country’s most extraordinary natural environments.

AYANA Bali
Set across 90 hectares of gardens and clifftop coastline in Jimbaran, away from the island’s more congested areas, AYANA Bali comprises four hotels, 31 dining venues, 14 swimming pools, and a wide range of facilities designed for families. Its scale and well-connected layout make it particularly suited to family travel, with frequent trams enabling easy movement across the resort.

For children, a series of themed play environments encourages interaction with Bali’s natural surroundings. At the recently opened RIMBA Jungle Adventure, indoor and outdoor spaces are shaped around movement, imagination, and exploration. Sproutroots focuses on open-air play, with climbing structures and a zipline set beside a pool with waterslides. Lumincave offers a quieter indoor setting for younger children, while Whisperwood introduces storytelling and nature-based activities. Meanwhile, AYANA Ocean Adventure, connected to a kids pool, combines water play with a marine-inspired setting.

Families seeking more structured experiences can take part in dedicated programmes tailored to different age groups. The Guidepost Montessori Children’s Adventure Camp introduces children aged 3 to 6 to hands-on, self-directed learning, while Green Camp AYANA engages children aged 7 to 12 through outdoor activities designed to build confidence and environmental awareness.

Beyond these programs, the two-hectare AYANA Farm offers families the opportunity to explore Bali’s agricultural traditions and the resort’s sustainability practices through guided walks and interactive sessions. Cultural experiences are equally woven into the stay, from traditional music and dance performances at the open-air theatre and dining venue Kampoeng Bali, to visits to the internationally acclaimed SAKA Museum, where guests can engage more deeply with the island’s rich living heritage.

This unparalleled range and integration, along with childcare services, allow parents to step in and out of the day as they choose, whether that means joining in or taking time to enjoy the world-renowned AYANA Spa, the secluded beach, or the resort’s enticing dining options.

The Connected Family Stay package is available from now until 31 March 2027 with a minimum three-night stay. The package includes connecting rooms with secure internal access, round-trip airport transfers, and resort credit of up to IDR 1,200,000, alongside a family poolside lunch and a one-hour Thalassotherapy session for parents. Additional benefits include savings on spa treatments and F&B at the iconic Rock Bar.

AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach
Less than an hour’s flight from Bali, the journey continues at AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach, where the setting shifts to the rugged landscape of Flores. Positioned at the gateway to the UNESCO-listed Komodo National Park, the resort offers direct access to one of Indonesia’s most extraordinary natural environments.

Here, the focus turns to exploration within a protected, biodiverse region shaped by rugged islands, clear waters, and thriving marine ecosystems. Guided excursions take families to Komodo Island, as well as the iconic ridgelines of Padar Island and the blush shoreline of Pink Beach. Offshore, coral reefs support a rich diversity of marine life, with snorkelling revealing vast schools of reef fish and, at times, manta rays.

Activities are designed to connect guests with the environment, from guided island-hopping journeys to marine experiences, all supported by experienced guides and a strong emphasis on responsible exploration. At the resort, this continues through its recently upgraded Marine Discovery Center and conservation-led programmes, where families can gain insight into coral reef ecosystems, while KISIK Seafood & Grill introduces the flavors, music, and traditions of Flores through a beachfront cultural barbecue set against the sunset over Waecicu Bay.

Families can take advantage of a seasonal offer at AYANA Komodo, available for bookings up until 27 September 2026 on stays from 1 June to 30 September 2026, with a minimum three-night stay. The package includes daily breakfast, shared airport transfers, a glass-bottom boat experience, and for suite guests, complimentary use of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and snorkelling equipment, alongside savings on spa, dining, and selected water activities.

PRESTIGE Gourmet Awards 2026 Returns, Celebrating Indonesia’s Leading Culinary Destinations

Recognising the 30 restaurants shaping Indonesia’s dining landscape today

Jakarta, Indonesia (6 May 2026) –  Prestige Indonesia returns with the second edition of the PRESTIGE  Gourmet Awards (PGA 2026), reinforcing its authority within Indonesia’s evolving fine dining landscape.  Building on the momentum of its inaugural year, the awards continue to spotlight the country’s most  compelling culinary destinations and the individuals shaping its trajectory.

Taking place on 4 May 2026 at 25hours Hotel The Oddbird Jakarta, PGA 2026 convenes a curated  audience of tastemakers, industry leaders, and members of Prestige’s inner circle to mark a key moment  in Indonesia’s F&B calendar. The awards recognise Indonesia’s 30 Best Restaurants of the Year,  presented across Gold, Silver, and Bronze distinctions, with final winners revealed during the awards night  and featured in Prestige Indonesia’s upcoming Taste Issue.

“Indonesia’s culinary richness is one of our greatest strengths, shaped by the diversity of our ingredients,  traditions and communities. As global recognition continues to grow, gastronomy is no longer just a cultural  expression, but also a strategic driver of tourism and economic growth. Platforms like the PRESTIGE Gourmet Awards play an important role in celebrating excellence while strengthening Indonesia’s position  as a compelling global gastronomy destination,” said Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Minister of Tourism of  the Republic of Indonesia in her opening remarks at PRESTIGE Gourmet Awards 2026 event.

For over two decades, Prestige Indonesia has defined the benchmark for luxury lifestyle media in the  country. The PRESTIGE Gourmet Awards extend this legacy into gastronomy, offering a perspective  shaped by informed taste and cultural relevance rather than public voting or commercial metrics.

“PGA 2026 reflects a point of view shaped by experience and discernment,” said Ronald Liem, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Prestige Indonesia. “In this second edition, we are seeing a notably dynamic shift  in Indonesia’s dining landscape, with a remarkable number of new entries joining the list. It speaks to the  pace at which the industry continues to evolve.”

The 2026 edition is evaluated by a panel of 36 judges, comprising prominent figures across hospitality,  media, entrepreneurship, and the creative industries. Their collective perspective reflects a nuanced  understanding of Indonesia’s culinary landscape, from heritage driven concepts to contemporary dining.

“For our judges, innovation is essential, restaurants are not only expected to maintain excellence, but to  continuously push boundaries and redefine the dining experience. Being recognised this year does not  guarantee a place in the next, which underscores the rigour and fluidity of our voting process. Through PGA  2026, we aim to celebrate the creativity, ambition, and ever-evolving standards that define Indonesian  gastronomy today,” added by Ronald Liem.

The awards are brought to life with the support of esteemed partners: 25hours Hotel The Oddbird Jakarta,  818 Tequila, PT Mitra Indo Maju, San Pellegrino, Varvaglione, Victoria Arduino, and Finna Food.

The winners are also featured in alphabetical order in the May 2026 edition of Prestige Indonesia, The  Taste Issue, with a dedicated section celebrating this year’s honourees. From London To Bali: Junsei Brings Japanese Yakitori And Listening Bar Culture To Sanur

Precision charcoal grilling, an intimate atmosphere, smooth service, and vinyl records into the night — Junsei introduces a more deliberate way to dine in the island’s new darling, Sanur.

Bali, Indonesia (5 May 2026) –  On Bali’s southeast coast, Sanur has long been known for its slower pace, gentle shores, and spectacular sunrises. Compared to the island’s more established dining hubs, its F&B scene has remained relatively under the radar. But with ongoing infrastructure upgrades and a steady wave of new openings, the area is beginning to shift, and a new generation of concepts is bringing a different kind of energy. Junsei is one of them.

Founded in London in 2021, Junsei is a modern yakitori-ya with a dedicated vinyl-led listening bar, Tamba by Junsei, built around a simple idea: doing things simply, and doing them well. Imbued with the spirit of a Japanese izakaya — an inviting, social space where skewers, small plates and drinks are shared — Junsei brings this sensibility to Sanur’s main street, Jalan Tamblingan, balancing consistently good food, vinyl played at just the right volume, and a lively atmosphere. The name Junsei,  meaning “pure”, reflects this approach: a focus on clarity, restraint, and letting each element speak for itself.

Junsei is helmed by Founder and Executive Chef Aman Lakhiani, whose path into cooking began early. Growing up in an Indian-Indonesian household, he was surrounded by bold, complex flavors, but it was a desire to explore something different that drew him into the kitchen. That curiosity led him to restaurants across Europe, the UK, and Japan, where his approach began to shift.

Immersion in Japanese cuisine and culture and its deep respect for craft, detail, and discipline left a lasting impression. Over time, his cooking became more restrained: less about adding, and more about understanding when to stop. “Less is more,” he says. “If you can bring out what’s needed from an ingredient without adding too much, that’s when it works best.”

That thinking is most evident in yakitori, which translates as “grilled bird.” Using traditional shichirin grills from Japan, Junsei cooks its skewers exclusively over binchōtan charcoal. Made from dense hardwoods and prized for its high carbon content, it burns with a clean, steady heat, maximizing each ingredient’s natural flavor.

Before handling the grill, Junsei’s chefs undergo up to a year of training. “Charcoal is alive,” says Chef Aman. “You have to understand it to work with it. You can’t treat it like something fixed.” The result is a selection of skewers drawn from nearly every part of the locally sourced, organic chicken, alongside seasonal choices such as vegetables, tofu, pork belly, and quail egg.

Destined to become a crowd favorite is the tsukune: a torpedo-shaped chicken meatball skewer with a light salty-sweet glaze and gently springy texture. Served with an egg yolk bathed in soy sauce for dipping, it’s an irresistible umami bomb. As with all of Junsei’s skewers, what appears straightforward reveals its depth in the details: ingredient quality, seasoning, texture, and consistency.

A concise menu of izakaya-style snacks and small plates complements the skewers, including crab-filled chicken wings, crab croquettes with caviar, Balinese black pig katsu sandwich, and line-caught sashimi with citrus soy. For something more substantial, the menu extends to rice bowls, smoked pork ramen, and claypot rice cooked to order. For those looking to experience Junsei at its most complete, the omakase offers a chef’s selection of skewers and seasonal dishes, alongside rare cuts from the in-house butchery. Across the menu, the approach remains the same: a tight selection, executed with skill and passion.

The space reflects this philosophy. Retaining elements of its original structure, the 50-seat restaurant and Tamba by Junsei, a tea room by day and vinyl-led listening bar by night, blend natural materials with sleek, understated design. The open grill anchors the narrow room, while the crackle and hum of vinyl sits just below it, shaping the mood as the evening unfolds. “Junsei is about how everything comes together: the food, the room, the music, the pace,” says Chef Aman. Guests are welcomed with small bites and given time to settle in, creating a rhythm that encourages conversation and connection rather than urgency.

While not traditionally seen as a dining hotspot, Sanur’s strong sense of place and evolving character make it the ideal setting for something different. “There’s something about Sanur,” Chef Aman says. “It still feels like Bali. It hasn’t lost that.” His vision for Junsei is clear: to be a place that people naturally gravitate towards, where the energy feels good and the food consistently delivers. As Sanur begins to redefine itself, Junsei is set to become part of its rhythm and its community.

TS Residence Seminyak Introduces a New Way of Living in Bali

Bali, Indonesia (22 April 2026) – In Bali, where long stays have become increasingly common, quality apartment living remains surprisingly limited. Recognising this gap, TS Residence was created to offer something distinctly different: a modern apartment residence connected to a five-star hotel, complete with access to its facilities and an integrated wellness centre. Developed by TS Suites Seminyak, TS Residence introduces a new standard of long-stay living through three defining pillars: five-star living, healthy living, and easy living.

Designed for those who choose to stay a little longer, TS Residence offers more than just a place to return to at the end of the day. It introduces a rhythm of living that feels considered, where comfort, well-being, and convenience are naturally woven into everyday life.

“TS Residence was created from a simple observation — there are still very few apartments in Bali that truly offer both quality and a complete lifestyle,” says Randolph Bubu, owner of TS Suites and TS Residence.

“We wanted to create a place where residents don’t have to compromise. With direct access to five-star facilities and a dedicated wellness centre, everything is already part of the experience. It’s about making long-stay living feel seamless, comfortable, and truly enjoyable.”

From left to right: SOLO Room and Studio Landscape

Comprising 66 modern apartment units, TS Residence Bali presents a collection of spaces that are both functional and refined. The layouts, ranging from one-bedroom to two-bedroom apartments, are thoughtfully designed to support the evolving routines of modern residents, whether working remotely, settling into island life, or simply seeking a more grounded way of living in Seminyak.

Yet what truly defines the experience is how living extends beyond the apartment itself. At TS Residence, home unfolds into a wider environment through direct access to TS Suites Seminyak, where the privileges of five-star living become part of the everyday. Mornings may begin with a quiet workout or a coffee before work, afternoons drift between productivity in the coworking space and moments of pause by the rooftop infinity pool, while evenings open into dining, conversation, or a film at the movie lounge. Around it, a curated mix of lifestyle spaces — from beauty and wellness to retail and dining — creates a setting where daily needs and small pleasures exist side by side.

Equally central to the experience is a deeper focus on well-being. Within the residence, the No.1 Wellness Club offers a space dedicated to restoration and balance, where the pace of the day can gently slow down. Here, movement, recovery, and nourishment come together through facilities such as reformer Pilates, wellness programs, IV infusion therapy, and thermal experiences including sauna and cold and hot baths. Complemented by a juice bar and nutritional café, it becomes a place not just to recharge, but to return to a more natural sense of energy.

Beyond its walls, TS Residence embraces the ease of its surroundings. Located in the heart of Seminyak, residents find themselves within walking distance of some of Bali’s most vibrant cafés, restaurants, boutiques, and beaches. AYANA Hospitality: A Philosophy-driven Approach To Luxury Destination Management In Indonesia

With a growing portfolio of luxury hotels, resorts, residences, and destination experiences, AYANA Hospitality brings together Indonesia’s most celebrated destinations under a single, philosophy-driven company.

Bali & Jakarta, Indonesia (16 April 2026) AYANA Hospitality is Indonesia’s leading luxury hospitality management company, uniting a portfolio of world-class destinations across the archipelago under a single, coherent philosophy: that the highest expression of hospitality is to protect, celebrate, and share the places it calls home.

The company takes its name from the Sanskrit word for “a place of refuge,” reflecting its belief that luxury and stewardship go hand in hand. From Bali’s clifftop views and Komodo’s UNESCO-listed wilderness to Jakarta’s business district and Bogor’s championship fairways, AYANA Hospitality has built a destination-driven model that is distinctly Indonesian, rooted in local culture, community, and place.

Grounded in Tri Hita Karana

At the core of AYANA Hospitality’s management approach is Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of harmony between people, nature, and the spiritual realm, and the operational logic that has governed how AYANA develops, manages, and invests in its properties since inception.

When AYANA Bali was first developed, the land presented significant constraints: dry, rocky terrain with limited vegetation and poor agricultural viability. At a time when large-scale hospitality development across Asia was driven primarily by speed and commercial timelines, a different decision was made. Development was slowed, allowing the land to recover, with soil restoration, landscape regeneration, and ecological balance treated as prerequisites, requiring patience and a willingness to defer near-term returns in favor of long-term environmental value.

That founding discipline remains the standard across the portfolio today, with sustainability and cultural stewardship embedded in how AYANA operates rather than appended to it.

An Integrated Destination Ecosystem at AYANA Bali

AYANA Bali is the portfolio’s anchor asset and Indonesia’s most complete integrated resort destination. Positioned on a 90-hectare clifftop estate above Jimbaran Bay, just 12 kilometers from Bali’s international airport, it brings together four distinct hotels within a single, cohesive ecosystem: AYANA Resort Bali (294 rooms and suites), AYANA Segara Bali (223 rooms and suites), AYANA Villas Bali (73 private-pool villas), and RIMBA by AYANA Bali, a 403-room family resort. With 30 dining venues, including the world-renowned sunset hotspot Rock Bar, along with 14 freshwater swimming pools, a secluded beach, and 17 meeting, event and wedding venues among its facilities, the destination serves the full spectrum of luxury travel segments within one consistent brand experience.

Wellness and culture function as central pillars of this ecosystem rather than supplementary amenities. AYANA Spa, with 53 treatment rooms and one of the world’s largest hydrotherapy seawater pools, is recognized by Oprah Daily among the top destination spas in the world. SAKA Museum, opened in 2024, has earned a place on TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places list and a 2025 Prix Versailles World Title, establishing itself as one of Indonesia’s most significant cultural institutions. AYANA Residences, Bali’s first purely residential community integrated within a five-star resort, and a new landmark convention center currently in development, further extend the destination’s reach across lifestyle, residential, and MICE segments.

Continuing the Journey: AYANA Komodo

AYANA Hospitality’s multi-destination vision is realized most clearly in the relationship between Bali and Komodo. Just a one-hour flight apart, AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach in Labuan Bajo, Flores, extends the portfolio into one of Southeast Asia’s most extraordinary natural assets: Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The resort’s 205 ocean-facing rooms and suites, seven dining venues, and managed activity program position it as the leading luxury gateway to the park, where a resident Marine Discovery Center, private island access, and complimentary daily activities ensure that engagement with the natural environment is central to every stay.

AYANA Cruises deepens the offering with a fleet of vessels operating within the park, led by the AYANA Lako di’a, a 54-meter luxury phinisi yacht with 9 private cabins for up to 18 guests, delivering a live-aboard experience at the same service standard as the resort. Additional vessels serve day excursions, fishing, and reef exploration. Together, AYANA Bali and AYANA Komodo enable a journey through two of Indonesia’s most iconic destinations, each distinct in character yet unified by AYANA’s philosophy and service standard.

A National Portfolio

Beyond its flagship destinations, AYANA Hospitality operates a portfolio that reflects the breadth of Indonesia’s travel landscape. AYANA Midplaza Jakarta anchors the brand’s urban presence on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, in the heart of the capital’s primary business and lifestyle corridor. Its 366 newly refurbished rooms and suites, Grand Ballroom with 1,500-guest capacity, 21 conference rooms, and diverse collection of eight dining outlets, make it a leading address for corporate travel, executive hospitality, and large-scale events in Jakarta. It is complemented by The Plaza Residences, an apartment tower offering fully furnished one- to three-bedroom units designed for extended stays, with access to the hotel’s facilities. Across both AYANA Bali and AYANA Midplaza Jakarta, Liu Li Palace Seafood Restaurant has emerged as a signature expression of the group’s elevated Chinese dining philosophy, reinforcing AYANA Hospitality’s growing strength in destination-led culinary experiences.

Delonix Hotel Karawang serves West Java’s industrial corridor with 172 hotel rooms and 117 serviced residence units, addressing both corporate and leisure demand in a strategically important market. Riverside Golf Club in Bogor, a Greg Norman-designed 18-hole championship course set along the Cikeas River, completes the portfolio as one of Indonesia’s premier golfing destinations.

Sustainability as Operational Standard

AYANA Bali holds EarthCheck Gold Certification, one of only seven properties on the island to reach this standard. Outcomes are measurable: 90% of wastewater is recycled, 32 tonnes of single-use plastic were eliminated in 2024 alone, and 96% of service contracts are sourced locally. Initiatives including AYANA Farm, Tevana Garden, biodiversity protection programs, and circular waste practices are natural extensions of the original development intent: to work with the land. Platinum Certification is the next milestone, supported by planned expansion of solar infrastructure and deepened waste circularity practices.

AYANA Komodo, an EarthCheck Silver-certified property, has restored 486 square meters of reef now supporting over 150 fish species, while investing in community programs across West Manggarai, with expanded coral restoration and food waste reduction initiatives planned for 2026. Alongside this, AYANA Midplaza Jakarta and Delonix have also achieved EarthCheck Silver Certification, reinforcing AYANA Hospitality’s commitment to measurable sustainability outcomes across both resort and urban environments.

Recognized Globally, Rooted Locally

The quality of AYANA Hospitality’s portfolio has been consistently recognized by the world’s leading travel and design authorities. Recent distinctions span Forbes Travel Guide, Condé Nast Johansens, Travel + Leisure, Oprah Daily, the World Luxury Hotel Awards, World Travel Awards, World Luxury Travel Awards, DestinAsian, and the Prix Versailles, among others. These accolades affirm both the quality of individual assets and the coherence of AYANA’s approach: ensuring cultural authenticity, environmental responsibility, and exceptional guest experiences are expressions of the same underlying philosophy.

Defining Indonesian Hospitality

AYANA Hospitality’s model is distinctive within the Indonesian market: an owner-operator with a long-term investment horizon, a philosophy-driven management culture, and the operational depth to deliver consistently across diverse asset types, geographies, and guest profiles. As Indonesia continues to grow as a global luxury travel and MICE destination, AYANA Hospitality is positioned at the center of that story, as a company that has helped write it.

Bali, Indonesia (13 April 2026) — From Sydney’s iconic harbour to the coast of Seminyak, Seasalt at Alila Seminyak welcomes Executive Chef Tyson Gee of Park Hyatt Sydney for the latest edition of its Seasalt & Friends series. Taking place from April 10 to 12, 2026,Chapter 10 unfolds as a three-day collaboration that brings together two coastal dining destinations, united by a shared philosophy of ingredient-led cuisine, advanced techniques, and culinary craftsmanship.

Designed as an immersive culinary exchange, the collaboration reflects Seasalt’s signature approach to coastal dining, where responsibly sourced seafood, Japanese-inspired techniques, and a zero-waste philosophy come together on the shores of the Indian Ocean. It also introduces the contemporary, produce-driven style of Park Hyatt Sydney, known for its relaxed yet refined approach to all-day dining overlooking Sydney Harbour.

Chef Tyson Gee brings a globally informed perspective shaped by his experience across Canada, Australia, Thailand, and Malaysia. Throughout his career, he has championed sustainability and locally sourced ingredients, combining technical precision with a thoughtful, ingredient-led approach. His presence at Seasalt Seminyak highlights a natural synergy between the two kitchens, where creativity and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

The collaboration begins with Sunset Hour on April 10 and 11, champagne, and wine experience set against Seminyak’s golden hour. Guests are invited to explore a series of curated tastings, thoughtfully paired with beverages and accompanied by live entertainment.

The event is followed by Dinner, with highlights including cured yellowtail with coconut citrus and belimbing, chargrilled calamari with smoked bacon XO, and braised clams with smoked soy and salted plum togarashi. Two New MICHELIN Stars Shine on Macau’s Dining Scene in 2026

Both restaurants—Palace Garden and Don Alfonso 1890—are part of SJM’s portfolio, underscoring the Group’s enduring leadership in Macau’s culinary scene

Macau (1 April 2026) — The 18th edition of the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau, marking the global 100th anniversary of the MICHELIN Guide, held its awards ceremony on 19 March at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”).

In the 2026 guide, Macau welcomed two new MICHELIN Starred restaurants, both at Grand Lisboa Palace under SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”). These include Palace Garden and Don Alfonso 1890, each earning their first star—the only new addition to Macau’s starred roster this year.

Together with its parent company STDM, SJM’s portfolio now totals ten MICHELIN Stars across six establishments, the largest collection in Hong Kong and Macau.

A Legacy of Culinary Excellence
SJM has long set the standard for fine dining in Macau. Since Robuchon au Dôme earned the city’s first three MICHELIN Star honour in 2009, the Group has maintained an outstanding record. In the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2026, Robuchon au Dôme remains Macau’s only three MICHELIN Starred Western restaurant, while The Eight, SJM’s signature Cantonese fine-dining establishment, retains its two MICHELIN Stars—both with a remarkable 18-year track record in the Guide.

The two new stars at Grand Lisboa Palace further strengthen this impressive lineup. Palace Garden pays homage to the elegance of an imperial garden, offering a refined take on traditional Taishi cuisine. Signature dishes highlight meticulous technique and vibrant flavours, such as the Steamed Fresh Crab Claw with Lobster Broth Egg White, prepared with rich simmered supreme broths and precise knife skills. Don Alfonso 1890, the Macau outpost of the celebrated Iaccarino family’s Italian restaurant, brings authentic flavours from the Sorrento Peninsula and Amalfi Coast. True to its farm-to-table philosophy, it sources ingredients directly from the family’s own organic farm, Le Peracciole.

The collection is rounded out by the one MICHELIN Starred Zuicho, known for its refined “kappo” cuisine, alongside MICHELIN Selected restaurants including Mesa by José Avillez, which blends contemporary Portuguese cuisine with a “casual fine dining” philosophy, and The Kitchen, known for elevated Western classics.

Beyond Macau, STDM celebrates the return of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Hong Kong, which has been awarded two MICHELIN Stars at its new location at Landmark.

Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, said: “This milestone in MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2026 underscores SJM and our parent company’s enduring leadership in the region’s fine-dining landscape. From refined Cantonese artistry and world-class Western haute cuisine to contemporary Italian dining and elevated Japanese kappo, our diverse portfolio reflects the richness of Macau’s unique East-meets-West gastronomic identity. We remain deeply committed to advancing the city’s global culinary stature and contributing to Macau’s reputation as one of Asia’s most dynamic and distinguished dining capitals.”

A MICHELIN Guide-curated Collaboration
As the event supporter of the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2026, SJM also presented the MICHELIN Guide-curated “Sensory Harmony Star Dinner”—a sold-out, immersive dining experience at Grand Lisboa Palace.

The one-night-only event brought together five world-renowned chefs representing a combined fourteen MICHELIN Stars: Julien Tongourian of Robuchon au Dôme, Joseph Tse of The Eight, Mathew Leong of RE-NAA by Sven Erik Renaa, Jungsik Yim of Jungsik New York, and Michelangelo Mammoliti of La Rei Natura by Michelangelo Mammoliti. Exceptional wine pairings—all boasting 90+ points from the Robert Parker rating system—combined with immersive visual storytelling to elevate the evening into a truly memorable, multi-sensory experience.

Beyond its strong performance in the MICHELIN Guide, SJM has long been committed to strengthening Macau’s status as a UNESCO “Creative City of Gastronomy”. Through a diverse range of culinary events, the group continues to boost the city’s “Tourism + Gastronomy” appeal, making Macau an increasingly attractive destination for Indonesian food lovers seeking world-class dining experiences.

New Semarang Luxury Hotel Designed as a Living Archive of Heritage, Craftsmanship, and Beauty

Semarang, Indonesia (16 March, 2026) — KoenoKoeni Hotel Semarang, a 111-key small luxury hotel, is scheduled to open in Quarter 3, 2026. The hotel will interpret Semarang’s Chinese–Javanese heritage through architecture, materials, and spatial planning, creating a hospitality experience that reflects Central Java’s historical layers, traditional craftsmanship, and multicultural legacy.

KoenoKoeni’s architecture and interiors, designed by Studio Air Putih, have been conceived as a “portal through time.” Visitors will be welcomed by a magnificent entrance featuring high ceilings and curved walls, creating a genuine sense of arrival and anticipation. This feeling will continue into the lobby, where red brick walls, warm timber ceiling elements, and white quartz marble floors will blend heritage-inspired design with modern elegance.

Chinese–Javanese heritage will guide both material and spatial decisions throughout the hotel. Public areas will showcase traditional materials and textures that create warmth and continuity with local architectural traditions.

In the all-day dining area, subtle blue-and-white accents and columns will be inspired by classical Chinese porcelain, while guest rooms and corridors will carry this lineage more subtly, with soft, light-colored wood and curated artworks creating spaces that feel both contemporary and connected to history.

Dozens of intriguing antiques and cultural artefacts from the hotel founder’s vast personal collection will be integrated throughout key areas, including the lobby and dining spaces. These objects will invite guests to engage with fragments of Indonesia’s history throughout their stay, while carefully designed lighting will encourage moments of reflection and emotional connection. Signature features include a grand spiral staircase and the illuminated Sky Lounge bar, set beneath a gabled roof reflecting Java’s colonial-era architecture, where European forms were adapted to local materials and the tropical climate.

The hotel will guide guests naturally through its spaces, moving from open areas to intimate corners, with subtle shifts in ceiling height and materials shaping the journey. Heritage will be intricately woven into the experience, turning history into a story that can be felt and lived rather than simply observed. Luxurious modern comforts, practical layouts, and uncluttered interiors will ensure the hotel is welcoming to both domestic and international visitors.

Facilities will include an all-day dining restaurant, a sky-level restaurant and bar, a lobby café, an indoor swimming pool, spa, fitness center, meeting and event spaces, and a children’s play area. KoenoKoeni Hotel Semarang has been designed so that every part of the guest experience, from the entrance and lobby to private rooms and balconies, will contribute to a journey through Chinese–Indonesian history, craftsmanship, and collective memory.

SJM’s Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau Becomes the Only Integrated Resort in the World with All Hotels Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Rated

World’s First in 2026 Forbes Travel Guide with Its Spa Portfolio

Macau (4 March 2026) – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) has cemented its position as a global luxury hospitality leader as its flagship property, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, has become the world’s only integrated resort with all hotels Forbes Travel Guide (“FTG”) Five-Star rated. Every hotel, signature restaurant, and spa within the integrated resort evaluated by FTG has earned the coveted Five-Star rating. This milestone also makes Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau the world’s first integrated resort to house three FTG Five-Star spas—The Spa at Grand Lisboa Palace, The Spa at THE KARL LAGERFELD, and The SPA at Palazzo Versace Macau—under one roof. The property has further distinguished itself as one of only three destinations worldwide with the highest concentration of FTG Five-Star restaurants. The prestigious 2026 FTG has awarded SJM a record-breaking 14 Five-Star ratings across its properties.

Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, said, “Achieving this unprecedented suite of Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star honours places SJM firmly on the global stage and reflects the exceptional talent within Macau’s hospitality sector. As the leading authority in luxury hospitality, Forbes Travel Guide’s rigorous evaluation system makes these accolades especially meaningful. They underscore our long-term commitment to service culture, operational excellence and consistently elevated guest experiences, reinforcing SJM’s leading role in global luxury travel and further strengthening Macau’s position as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.”

Setting New World Standards: The Ultimate Five-Star Collection
Palazzo Versace Macau has joined the elite ranks of Five-Star properties, placing it among only four new Macau hotels honoured in 2026 and completing Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau’s transformation into the only FTG all-Five-Star destination in the world, with its three hotels—Grand Lisboa Palace Macau, THE KARL LAGERFELD MACAU and Palazzo Versace Macau—each achieving the highest recognition. Together with Grand Lisboa Macau’s seventh consecutive Five-Star award, these distinctions reinforce SJM’s dual strategy of strengthening its proprietary “Lisboa” brand while advancing strategic collaborations with world-renowned designer labels.

Global Benchmark for Luxury Wellness Destinations
SJM’s four signature hotel spas—The Spa at Grand Lisboa, The Spa at Grand Lisboa Palace The Spa at THE KARL LAGERFELD, and The SPA at Palazzo Versace Macau—have once again achieved FTG Five-Star recognition, reaffirming Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau as the world’s only integrated resort with the highest number of FTG Five-Star spa facilities. Through collaborations with world-class skincare brands and thoughtfully designed interiors, SJM elevates professional wellness treatments into holistic journeys of physical and mental renewal, articulating a refined philosophy of holistic living.

World’s Highest Concentration of FTG Five-Star Dining
Culinary excellence continues at SJM, with six restaurants retaining their FTG Five-Star ratings: Robuchon au Dôme, The Eight, Palace Garden, Zuicho, Mesa by José Avillez, and Don Alfonso 1890. The latter four restaurants, located within Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, establish the property as one of only three destinations worldwide with the highest concentration of Five-Star restaurants under one roof. These distinctions underscore SJM’s sustained culinary leadership, defined by clear brand positioning, authentic global cuisines led by world-class chefs, and one of Asia’s most acclaimed wine collections, further elevating Macau’s status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

Detox the Bullshit: Bali-born Wellness Brand Utama Spice Says Swap Your Complex 12-Step Routine for Simple, Real-World Skincare

Bali, Indonesia (3 March 2026) – In a world where your skincare routine could double as a side hustle, Bali-born wellness brand Utama Spice is here with a simple message: self-care doesn’t have to be complicated, performative, or exhausting. The brand’s latest campaign encourages a reality check: fewer, better products can do more than a dozen-step ritual ever could.

“You don’t need a spreadsheet for your skincare,” said Ria Templer, Director of Utama Spice. “True wellness isn’t about checking off endless steps or achieving Instagram-worthy rituals — it’s about consistency, simplicity, and listening to your body.”

Routine fatigue is real. Consumers are juggling dozens of products, obscure rules, and conflicting advice — sometimes all before breakfast. Many wellness trends suggest you need a wake-up call at 4 a.m., daily ice baths, or a ritual for every mood.

Some promise glowing skin, better karma, or even enlightenment if you just stick to the 17-step regimen. Utama Spice takes a completely different approach: products that work with your body and your time, making self-care achievable without the bathroom and bedroom mirror chaos.

From versatile body balms to calming facial oils, Utama Spice’s products are designed for minimal steps, maximum effect, and a daily dose of sanity. The Immortelle Serum and Witch Hazel Toner offer a gentle, two-step ritual that proves less really can be more. The Energizing Body Balm doubles as moisturizer and a subtle pick-me-up, no special spreadsheet required. The BreatheEase Aroma Set supports daily calm without needing a full aromatherapy certification. Every ingredient is responsibly sourced with a focus on supporting communities and protecting the environment, so your self-care creates impact beyond your skin.

Beyond the products themselves, Utama Spice emphasizes realistic self-care rituals that fit into everyday life. Whether it’s a quick morning refresh, a five-minute evening ritual, or a mid-day pause to breathe, the philosophy is simple: do what works, skip what doesn’t, and give yourself permission to keep wellness easy. Because if your routine needs an alarm clock or a spreadsheet, it might be doing too much.

The campaign also touches on a broader truth: wellness has become increasingly performative. From perfectly curated Instagram posts to influencer-endorsed “must-do” trends, consumers are experiencing pressure to prove they’re taking care of themselves, often at the expense of actually feeling cared for. Utama Spice rejects this notion, celebrating honest, approachable, and effective self-care.

Utama Spice invites everyone to detox the bullshit, embrace honest self-care, and discover that doing less can feel just as good — if not better — than doing more. After all, real wellness isn’t about YouTube videos — it’s about feeling good in your own skin, enjoying the process, and respecting your body’s rhythms rather than fighting them.

Syrco BASÈ Brings a Taste of Bali to Jakarta with an Exclusive Skyline Culinary Pop-Up at The Plaza

Jakarta, Indonesia (18 February 2026) – Syrco BASÈ has officially arrived in Jakarta with an exclusive three-week culinary pop-up in collaboration with Plaza Indonesia. From 16 February to 7 March 2026, the pop-up is hosted at Altitude Grill Jakarta, on the 46th floor of The Plaza, offering a refined dining experience set high above the city with sweeping views of Jakarta’s skyline.

Bringing a taste of Bali and Chef Syrco Bakker’s two Michelin-starred skills to the capital, Syrco BASÈ translates its distinctive philosophy into an urban setting. At its core, the restaurant is guided by a clear culinary identity. Syrco BASÈ is a conscious dining concept, where local products and flavors meet a modern Western approach. Chef Syrco shares: “Bringing Syrco BASÈ to Jakarta is an exciting moment for us. We’re not simply recreating what we do in Ubud, but translating our philosophy into a new context. In a very different environment to our home in Bali, we invite guests to experience Indonesian ingredients and flavors through our approach of traceability, nature, and transparency. Every dish contains layered stories of origin, our collaborations with farmers and suppliers, and our respect for the land.”

Rooted in the guiding principles of Traceability, Nature, and Transparency, the Jakarta pop-up menu is conceived as a living expression of Syrco BASÈ’s culinary platform. Ingredients are selected through close relationships with farmers, fishers, and artisans whose care, craftsmanship, and sustainable practices shape every plate. The menu follows nature rather than controlling it, drawing inspiration from the landscapes and biodiversity of Bali and the wider Indonesian archipelago, while embracing honesty and clarity of flavor.

The menu tells a story of Syrco BASÈ’s journey, balancing signature classics with new discoveries. Guests can expect a selection of defining dishes such as Steak Tartar with rendang seasoning, Taro Rösti with Duck Betutu, Spiny Lobster preparations, and Pure Chocolate with soursop and avocado—plates that reflect the roots, evolution, and flavors that have shaped the restaurant’s identity. Alongside these, new creations introduce fresh techniques and combinations inspired by ongoing culinary explorations across Indonesia, keeping the experience dynamic and forward-looking.

Complementing the cuisine is a beverage pairing that highlights carefully selected Indonesian and Balinese producers. Guests will discover spirits and artisanal creations from brands such as Three Peaks, Black Rock, Nusa Caña, Yellow Sky, and SABA Grappa, thoughtfully integrated into cocktail selections. These collaborations further reinforce Syrco BASÈ’s commitment to celebrating local craftsmanship across every element of the dining experience.

Beyond the cuisine itself, the pop-up is designed as a fully immersive experience. For three weeks, Altitude Grill will be completely transformed, with interior designers reimagining the space to reflect the distinctive atmosphere of Syrco BASÈ in Ubud. Natural textures, thoughtful details, and a curated ambiance bring the spirit of Bali into Jakarta’s skyline setting. Music, visual aesthetics, aromas, and the rhythm of movement within the space are carefully orchestrated, allowing guests to transition gently through the evening. Together, these elements create an experience that engages all the senses.

The Syrco BASÈ Jakarta pop-up will be available for dinner daily from 5.00 PM to 10.00 PM. A more intimate lunch service is also available daily from 12.00 PM to 2.00 PM, upon request, designed for guests seeking a refined daytime expression of the menu.

Guests may choose from two tasting experiences. The Journey Menu, priced at IDR 1,350,000++, is available for both lunch and dinner, with the option of a beverage pairing at IDR 575,000++ or a 0% beverage pairing at IDR 375,000++. For lunch, the Pure Menu, priced at IDR 850,000++, offers a lighter yet equally expressive experience, complemented by an optional beverage pairing at IDR 450,000++ or a 0% beverage pairing at IDR 275,000++.

For guests seeking the most complete expression of the Syrco BASÈ experience, a Full Experience is also available at IDR 2,900,000++. This curated offering includes the Journey Menu, a glass of Champagne, a beverage pairing featuring a selection of cocktails and wines, water, an after-dinner cocktail, and coffee or tea.

Zamri Mamat, Deputy Chief Marketing Officer Plaza Indonesia says “Plaza Indonesia continuously strives to deliver unique and meaningful experiences for our customers. Bringing Syrco BASÈ from Ubud to Jakarta allows our loyal guests to enjoy a highly sought-after culinary destination in an elevated setting. It has been a pleasure collaborating with Chef Syrco to create this exceptional experience”.

Set within Jakarta’s most prestigious address, The Plaza is synonymous with excellence, bringing together business, lifestyle, hospitality, and culture in the heart of the city. Rising above it, Altitude Grill is celebrated for its panoramic skyline views and refined setting for intimate dining, and sophisticated gatherings.

The Syrco BASÈ Jakarta Pop-Up at Altitude Grill, The Plaza marks a meeting point between Bali’s conscious culinary spirit and Jakarta’s dynamic urban energy.
